Day 1: Arrival, Arusha Planet Lodge

Your international flight will arrive in Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). A private transfer arranged by Royal travel Safaris will be waiting to take you to Arusha Planet Lodge in Arusha to relax and revive your senses after the long flight.

Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park

Once you get at Lake Manyara, you will have the opportunity to witness a huge variety of bird species as well as the stunning migratory flamingos. The lake also sustains a rich wildlife in the surrounding area that ensures a wonderful game drive in this small park.

The dense tropical rainforest inside the park also offers a chance to undertake high tree canopy walks that gives another dimension to your experience. Get close to nature by touching and feeling the African bush.  Other activities including bicycling around Mto wa Mbu town view the local community around living around the National Park.

Day 3 & 4: Tarangire National Park

Proceed to the Tarangire NP from your accommodation after an early breakfast. Observe large elephant herds and exotic creatures including lions, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, warthogs, and other wildlife as you take on the majestic baobab filled park that adds amazing experience to the park. Tarangire is also a bird lover’s delight with more than 500 different bird species, including the Maasai Ostrich, the largest bird in the world.

The Tarangire River, which is another highlight of the park, turns into the greatest stop to see all the species that is found in the park during the dry season (July to October).  Animals tend to congregate on the river during this season and as such spectacular wildlife interaction are sure to excite visitors.

Day 5: Tarangire National Park – Ngorongoro Crater

Head to the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the Seven World wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. When you arrive at the crater, you may stand on the rim and look spectacularly down to the floor and out across the 100 square mile area of the crater.

You will travel to Karatu for dinner and some free time after this glimpse of tomorrow’s plunge into the Crater.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater

Descend from the Crater’s rim to the floor and experience one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and the most amazing geological feature in Africa. Formed three million years ago, and with a distinctive habitat, the crater is home to one of the densest wildlife populations on earth.

Home to resident and migratory birds, the crater’s diverse habitat teems with species such as flamingos, storks and ibises. Large flocks of lesser flamingos inhabit the beautiful Lake Magadi in the crater, while on the skies, scavengers and raptors are seen gliding above.

Get also to explore and discover nearly every animal species of the East African savanna in the grass steppes and acacia forest, including the “Big Five” (rhino, elephant, Cape buffalo, lion, leopard).

You will ascend the crater in the evening and return to your accommodation.

Day 7 – Serengeti National Park

With its vast grasslands that stretch as far as the eye can see, an early morning drive into the central Serengeti is surely one of the highlights of your trip. You proceed to the Seronera area, one of the park’s greatest wildlife concentration areas, home to the Seronera River, a crucial water supply that draws wildlife that is broadly representative of the Serengeti’s species.

For birders, the park boasts about 500 bird species, the park promises a birder’s satisfaction. Species like the African Ostrich, crowned cranes, the elegant secretary birds and the abundant vulture species that promise a kill on the plains.

The Great Migration herds dispersed over the central plains, migrating south, during the brief rainy season in November and December is a spectacle to see. As the hundreds of thousands of migrating animals make their way back up north, during the longer rainy season, which lasts from April to June the day will be filled with breathtaking experiences.

Head back to your accommodation, relax and enjoy the beautiful Serengeti sunset.

Day 8: Serengeti Migration

On another full day on the Serengeti, head to the famous crocodile infested rivers of the park where large migration herds of wildebeests and zebras try their luck to cross to the other side and continue their journey towards Masai Mara plains in Kenya.

Led by their instincts, these brave animals brave the strong currents of Grumeti, Seronera and Mara Rivers while the enormous Nile Crocodiles feast and stack up on the unfortunate individuals in what is an impressive and dramatic sight. After an unforgettable day, you will head back to your accommodation to relax and savor the experience of the day.

The vast expanse of Serengeti also offers a chance to observe the Big Five animals on a regular basis unlike any other park in Tanzania. Explore diverse wild African cats like cheetahs and servals, the spotted hyenas and rare wild dogs.

Days 9 – 13: Serengeti – Arusha – Zanzibar Island

A 2-hour flight from Arusha Airport to Zanzibar will land you in the beautiful tropical island to spend the next few days of your journey. Each day you will spend exploring what Zanzibar has to offer.

Sunbathe on the world-renowned sandy beaches, explore the beautiful coral reefs that visitors can swim in and do snorkeling.  Explore the ancient Stone Town with its rich history, the Jozane forest with its rare Red Colobus Monkey, take on cooking classes with unique Zanzibar spices to leave you with amazing tastes.

On the final day, your guide will drive you to the airport for your outbound flight.
