Tour Overview

A fantastic adventure exploring 4 different parks situated in northern Tanzania. This extensive package is tailored to deliver unforgettable wildlife experience, taking in splendid scenery of wild animals and magnificent landscapes. Take on the wild through game drives, walking safaris and balloon rides.

Day 1: Arrival – Tarangire National Park

Take on the African bush soon on arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Your Royal Travel Safaris guide driver will drive you to the beautiful Tarangire National Park. A park situated about 3 hours from Kilimanjaro Airport.  Famous for large elephant herds and majestic baobab trees scattered across the park, Tarangire offers a diverse number of attractions to fill your experience.

Home to around 500 bird species migratory, endemic and rare species, the park is a birders paradise. After an afternoon game drive that promises a spectacular game viewing, you will be directed to your accommodation to settle and relax.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

For your first full day on a game drive in this elephant and bird paradise. Observe large elephant herds and exotic creatures including lions, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, warthogs, and other wildlife as you take on the majestic baobab filled park that adds amazing experience to the park.

The Tarangire River, which is another highlight of the park, turns into the greatest stop to see all the species that is found in the park during the dry season (July to October). Animals tend to congregate on the river during this season and as such spectacular wildlife interaction are sure to excite visitors.

Day 3: Tarangire – Ngorongoro Crater

On the way to the famous Ngorongoro crater, you will pass through a lively village of Mto wa Mbu, bursting with activity and amazing residents, this is a stop to immerse yourself in the daily activities of a community dedicated in wonderful spirit of welcoming tourists and visitors.

We will then head towards the Ngorongoro and spend overnight on a wonderful secluded lodging just outside the crater ready for your morning adventure into the crater.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater

Descend from the Crater’s rim to the floor and experience one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and the most amazing geological feature in Africa. Formed three million years ago, and with a distinctive habitat, the crater is home to one of the densest wildlife populations on earth.

Get to explore and discover nearly every animal species of the East African savanna in the grass steppes and acacia forest, including the “Big Five” (rhino, elephant, Cape buffalo, lion, leopard). With more than 500 species of bird, the crater is a birder’s paradise.

After a picnic lunch on the crater floor, you may return to your accommodation.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park through Ndutu

En route towards the Serengeti we drive through Lake Ndutu region today, which is a part of the southern Serengeti ecosystem’s Ngorongoro conservation area. An extensive forest of acacia trees, Ndutu area is one of the best game viewing spots in Tanzania during the lush green season where there are excellent chances to see cheetahs and other animals that take part in the great migration.

Continue to the famous Serengeti after lunch for daily chances to see Tanzania’s amazing wildlife, including the big cats. The Maasai term “siringitu,” which means “endless plains,” is where the name “Serengeti” originates. When you see the vast expanse of grassland savannas that extends as far as the eye can see in the distance, you will understand why. You are sure to plentiful game on your way to your accommodation.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park

With its vast grasslands that stretch as far as the eye can see, an early morning drive into the central Serengeti is surely one of the highlights of your trip. You proceed to the Seronera area, one of the park’s greatest wildlife concentration areas, home to the Seronera River, a crucial water supply that draws wildlife that is broadly representative of the Serengeti’s species.

The Great Migration herds dispersed over the central plains, migrating south, during the brief rainy season in November and December is a spectacle to see. As the hundreds of thousands of migrating animals make their way back up north, during the longer rainy season, which lasts from April to June the day will be filled with breathtaking experiences.

Head back to your accommodation, relax and enjoy the beautiful Serengeti sunset.

Day 7: Serengeti Migration

On another full day on the Serengeti, head to the famous crocodile infested rivers of the park where large migration herds of wildebeests and zebras try their luck to cross to the other side and continue their journey towards Masai Mara plains in Kenya.

Led by their instincts, these brave animals brave the strong currents of Grumeti, Seronera and Mara Rivers while the enormous Nile Crocodiles feast and stack up on the unfortunate individuals in what is an impressive and dramatic sight. After an unforgettable day, you will head back to your accommodation to relax and savor the experience of the day.

Day 8: Serengeti National Park

The vast expanse of Serengeti offers a chance to observe the Big Five animals on a regular basis unlike any other park in Tanzania. Explore diverse wild African cats like cheetahs and servals, the spotted hyenas and rare wild dogs.

Boasting about 500 bird species, the park promises a birder’s satisfaction. Species like the African Ostrich, crowned cranes, the elegant secretary birds and the abundant vulture species that promise a kill on the plains.

Day 9: Lake Manyara National Park

Take a tour of Lake Manyara which offers an experience of a different dimension. The park lies on the floor of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment, delivering amazing scenery of wildlife and vegetation. The lake attracts over 400 species of migratory and wading birds and other abundant wildlife that depend on it including hippos. The shallow alkaline habitat of the lake breeds microorganisms that draws large populations of flamingos.

Day 10: Lake Manyara – Arusha

Explore Lake Manyara for your final day of the African bush on a whole different perspective through a Treetop Canopy Walk and experience the lush dense evergreen forest filled with forest animals, biking through the outer edges of the park and the surrounding Mto wa Mbu town.  Try canoeing and get up close to large populations of hippos in the waters of lake Manyara.

After your game drive, picnic lunch in the park will be served as well as final remarks of your journey with us. Your guide will drop you off at the Airport in time for your inbound or outgoing flight.
