Day 1: Travel to Arusha, Tanzania

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be met by a Royal Travel guide waiting to take you to Arusha for an overnight stay. It takes an hour to get from the airport to the accommodation. You will be given the safari briefing on what to expect on the coming days.

Day 2: Manyara Game Drive & Bicycling

After breakfast, you will head to Lake Manyara National Park, a destination that promises an opportunity to witness a huge variety of bird species as well as the stunning migratory flamingos. This Rift Valley Lake also sustains a rich wildlife in the surrounding area that ensures a wonderful game drive in this small park.

The park lies on the floor of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment, delivering amazing scenery of vegetation and wildlife such as elephants, blue and ververt monkeys, girraffes, buffalos, zebras and many others. The lake attracts over 400 species of migratory and wading birds and other abundant wildlife that depend on it including hippos. The shallow alkaline habitat of the lake breeds microorganisms that draws large populations of flamingos.

Get close to nature by touching and feeling the African bush through a nature walk.  Other activities including bicycling around Mto wa Mbu town with a view of the local community living around the National Park.

Day 3 & 4: Serengeti National Park

With its vast grasslands that stretch as far as the eye can see, an early morning drive and early evening drives into the central Serengeti are surely one of the highlights of your trip. The Maasai term “siringitu,” which means “endless plains,” is where the name “Serengeti” originates. Rich in wildlife and beautiful landscapes, Serengeti promises a lot of incredible memories.

For birders, the park boasts about 500 bird species, the park promises a birder’s satisfaction. Species like the African Ostrich, crowned cranes, the elegant secretary birds and the abundant vulture species.  

Enjoy a full day on the Serengeti immersing yourself into one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on the planet, The Great Migration. Around 1.5 million wildebeests, zebras and impala migrating through the Serengeti every year. Predators including lions, leopards, wild dogs, cheetahs, hyenas and crocodiles pick off the old and weak animals keeping populations healthy and their numbers stable. Some 300,000 migrant animals are lost to predators, river crossings and fatigue during the migration every cycle.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Set out on your way to Ngorongoro Crater and descend from the Crater’s rim to the floor and experience the most amazing geological feature in Africa and one of the Seven Natural Wonders Africa. Formed three million years ago, and with a distinctive habitat, the crater is home to one of the densest wildlife populations on earth.

Get to explore and discover nearly every animal species of the East African savanna in the grass steppes and acacia forest, including the “Big Five” (rhino, elephant, Cape buffalo, lion, leopard). With more than 500 species of bird, the crater is a birder’s paradise.

Day 6: Cultural Tour – Hadzabe Bushmen and Datoga tribe

Take a cultural tour to the Hadzabe bushmen, ancient hunter- gatherers that have an unchanged and traditional way of life, living in harmony with nature. You may have the opportunity to learn their cultural norms, hunting techniques, survival skills and food preparation. Later on, you will go meet the Datoga tribe, semi – nomad pastoralists residing near Lake Eyas. Skilled farmers and black smith, the Datoga have unique traditions and customs that will immerse you in an authentic cultural journey.

Day 7: Tarangire National Park – Arusha

Proceed to the Tarangire NP from your accommodation after an early breakfast. Observe large elephant herds and exotic creatures including lions, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, warthogs, and other wildlife as you take on the majestic baobab filled park that adds amazing experience to the park.

The Tarangire River, which is another highlight of the park, turns into a great stop to see all the species that are found in the park during the dry season (July to October). Tarangire is a bird lover’s delight with more than 500 different bird species, including the Maasai Ostrich, the largest bird in the world.

After your game drive, picnic lunch in the park will be served as well as final remarks of your journey with us. Your guide will drop you off at the Airport in time for your outbound flight.
