Visit the Western Serengeti during June as the dry season starts in the park and where you will find large concentrations of migrating wildebeest and zebras facing their first biggest challenge, the Grumeti River.

Witness this incredible wildlife spectacle on the southern banks of the Grumeti River as thousands of wildebeests and zebras cross the crocodile-infested river. Thousands of animals fail this daunting challenge as the giant Nile Crocodiles feast on during these tense river encounters.

The same encounter happens as June moves into July and the hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebra continue to head north along the western edge of the park toward an even riskier barrier: the Mara River in the north of the Serengeti. These river crossings are arguably one of the most exciting wildlife events on Earth.
